8:00 Welcome to new students from principal, assistant principals, staff, and student leaders. This meeting will be held in House D, Rooms 141 and 143. (Parents and Students will sign-in)
8:15: Introduction of staff. Introduce division teachers. Each teacher will say something about his/her subject. Distribute orientation materials. We have a notebook with study skills materials, school programs, parental involvement and helpful hints about preparation for the future.
8:30 Icebreaker to make students and parents feel comfortable.
9:00 Discuss Vision, Mission, and Philosophy of the school. Mr. Cohler, the English teacher, will high- light the importance of study skills (Preparedness, organization, and time management.)
9:15 Introduction of counselor. The counselor will discuss graduation requirements and credits for graduation. Each student will have a pamphlet explaining what path to follow. The counselor will also discuss making the adjustment from elementary school to high school. Also, what it takes to be an effective learner and problem solving techniques.
9:45 Sharing time- Upper classmen will talk about the programs and what they faced when entering high school. It will also be time for questions and answers.
10:00 Issue students programs. Take the students and parents on tour of the building. We will divide the audience into two groups. (The principal or her designee will lead one group and the orientation coordinator will head the other group.)
10:30 Return to rooms 141 and 143. Allow time for questions and answers.
10:45 Discuss attendance procedures and absences. Discuss the bell schedules and any other pertinent information.
11:00 Those students with schedules will go to their division rooms
with division teachers.
The parents will remain and our LSC liaison will talk to the
parents about their involvement with his/her child education. Invite
the parents to take an active role in the LSC.
11:30 Have students to complete “ What kind of Student am I” exercise. Assigned teachers will discuss test preparation, different kinds of tests, and how to get ready for a test.
11:45 Question and Answer Period. (Collection of School Fees)
12:00 Dismissal

8:00 All students and parents will report to Open Space.
Refreshments and get acquainted time. Icebreaker to warm
everyone up.
8:30 Students who were in attendance on Monday, August 20, 2001 will report to their division. The other students will remain in Open Space. (The teacher will assign lockers; students will have a mock run of some of the classes.) Those students and parents in Open Space will go through the exercises that were given on Monday.
10:00 Re-assembly in Open Space.
Our upper ?class students will be available to talk about our
programs and activities. How to get involved in these activities.
Principal will talk about the main three programs- International Finance,
Culinary Arts, and Information Technology.
10:30 Performance by choir and band. (Icebreaker)
10:45 Upper-class students panel stages question and answer session.
11:00 Teachers will discuss the following with all the students:

(Student ID pictures will be taken on the first day of school in Uniform)

8:00 Students return and will go directly to division rooms.
8:15 Division teachers will work out a 30-minute rotation schedule
to take classes to library, computer lab, and science
rooms. (Locker Assignments)
9:50 Return to Open Space- Review grades/ report cards with student. Discuss what happens if the students don’t attend classes. Discuss the four-year plan.
10:15 The Principals designee will discuss how to be successful in the classroom.
11:00 Services Learning Project- Make Sure Students understand that they must do in order to graduate. (Parents are invited all three days)
11:15 This time will be focused on parental involvement, establish monthly meetings for parents.
