Hello,

    Welcome to Dyett's website!

My name is Cheryl Marshall Washington. I am the principal of Walter H. Dyett Academic Center.  I have been the principal for six exhilarating years.

I would like to share a few things about myself.  Prior to entering administration, I was a classroom teacher at Dyett.  I left Dyett in the late 80's.  I was appointed assistant principal at another school. Later, after serving as assistant principal, I was hired as the principal of Dyett.

My beliefs about education emanate from a philosophical base which recognizes and supports the unique character of American education.  Every American is guaranteed the opportunity to attend public school.  The egalitarianism embodied in this concept forms the basis of my strong feeling that all students are capable of learning and achieving success.  As the principal, I feel that it is my responsibility to create an atmosphere that makes success possible for all students.

" My Open Door Policy " allows students, parents, teachers, staff, community leaders, and all constituents involved to give input into making Dyett a great place to learn.

It is our expectation that all students will reach their optimum levels of achievement.

If you would like more information, feel free to send me an e-mail at Dyett 5091@aol.com

Hi!
Welcome to the wonderful world of learning!  My name is Millard Brown.  I am the assistant principal of Dyett Academic Center.  I have been a part of the Dyett family for 16 wonderful years.

In 1999, Dyett made a transformation into a high school, adding a grade level each year and this year, 2001, we will be adding the eleventh grade.  It has been a wonder challenge.  Our success is strong communication, mutual trust and support among teachers, parents and administrators.

I am very visible around the school. At Dyett we believe that if home and school send consistent messages to our children, the children will be like our Dyett eagle and SOAR!
