Introduction Welcome to my lesson on the Solar
System. I hope you find it a worthwhile teaching experience.
I'm quite sure your students will find it exciting and a fun way to learn.
Aim Introduce Primary Special Ed. students to the
Solar Systems.
Rationale To encourage students to learn facts
about the Solar System
Goals and Objectives Students will identify the objects
in the Solar Systems
Audience Primary Special Education.
First thru Fifth Grades
Prerequisites No Prerequisites
Subject-Matter Science
Instructional Plan Student will read
from science book chapter on the Solar System. Teacher
will lead discussion of the Solar System indentifying
each objects found in the Solar System. Students will
help to indentify unique characteristics found on different
planets. With teacher's assistant students will design their interpretation
of the solar system, identifying objects found
in the solar system. Students will label each planet in the solar
system and name one distinguishing fact about each planet (e.g. Mercury
closes to the sun.)
Materials Styro foam balls,
colored craft sticks, paints, paint , construction paper, colored
markers, pipe cleaners, wire hanger, glue.
Assessment and Evaluation Completion
of Solar System Model. Quiz on the solar system. Completed
activities.
