AIM: To create a curriculum web for students to develop their vocabulary, reading comprehension and web-based knowledge using the novel From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler.
RATIONALE: This curriculum web allows students to investigate the novel further by visiting related websites. This will promote an understanding and expansion of learning of museums and art history. Students will benefit by looking at new web resources that extend learning outside the classroom.
AUDIENCE: This curriculum web is designed for students and adults who have enjoyed the novel. The user must be familiar with the internet and how to move from site to site. The users of the website must know how to research within the web in order to develop their knowledge.
SUBJECT MATTER: Students will develop an interest in art history and the Italian Renaissance.

MATERIALS: An internet-linked computer and From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler
INSTRUCTIONAL PLAN: Prior to using the curriculum web, students must read the novel in order to have an understanding of the web. Students will learn about museums and art history. With the basic understanding of art history, students will delve deeper and learn about Michelangelo and the Italian Renaissance. There will be separate lessons and activities that enable students to complete letter writing, journaling and taking quizzes online. These quizzes will analyze the students' reading comprehension and fluency.
PLAN FOR ASSESSMENT AND EVALUATION: Each chapter has students completing assignments and evaluating themselves with an online quiz.
