ACTIVITY PAGE!!!

To complete each exercise, students must visit each link on the home page.  The activity for each link is outlined in this activity guide.

ACTIVITY #1
FULLER;
Each student will identify Fuller School, it's location and it's student population.

BRONZEVILLE;
Each student will identify and list a historic site in Bronzeville.  They will also identify how area became known as Bronzeville.

BASEBALL ICONS;
Students will choose (5) five baseball players form the "baseball icons" list.  they will identify the era in which they played, and record a significant event in U. S. history from that time.

PARTICIPATING;
Students will list activities that will occur at baseball camp.  They will also locate and list closest baseball camp to their home.

HOME RUN HITTERS;
Students will list (5) five home run hitters.  They will then identify when they played, and the team or teams that they played for.  They will then identify a national event that took place before, during, or directly after their careers ended.

HISTORY LESSON;
Students will click on to records and milestones and list 3,000 hit honorees, that are identified, the teams that they play or played for, and day that they recorded the hit.
 

ACTIVITY #2

JACKIE ROBINSON;
Students will identify Jackie Robinson and describe his major accomplishment. They will identify the day that this accomplishment occurred.

BABE RUTH;
Students will identify where Babe Ruth grew up, the position that he played at the beginning of his career, and the accomplishments at that position.  They will then identify how long he held home run record.

HANK AARON;
Students will list number records that he has as a player, and identify date and location of place that he broke the most famous record.

JOSH GIBSON;
Students will identify Josh Gibson as the greatest home run hitter of the Negro Leagues.  They will identify the number of home runs that he hit, and compare to Major league Baseball's all time home run leaders list.  They will also identify the longest home run that he hit and where he hit it

ERNIE BANKS;
Students will identify Ernie Banks as "Mr. Cub".  They will identify era in which he played and list position played and records at that position.  They will also state the phrase that he is known for.

MARK MCGUIRRE;
Students will identify the first team that he played for, the date that he broke the single season home run record, the total number that he hit that year, and who was the closest person to him in the home run race.

SAMMY SOSA;
Students will identify his homeland and how he lived while growing up there.  They will identify his current team and his home run records.  They will also list date that he received the M.V.P. award.
