Write Away! was created and designed by Mishawna S. Manning as a final project in the Web Institute for Teachers of the Chicago Public Schools and University of Chicago Internet Project (CUIP) in July of 2001.

Mishawna S. Manning is an intermediate grade teacher at a K-8 Chicago Public School.
