Sometimes writing is not the simplest thing to do. The writing process may help you write easier.

In this learning guide, you will go through five steps of the writing process to complete the writing task you have been assigned.

Read all of the information and follow directions carefully in this site. Additional help is provided through links which are always underlined and will describe the purpose of the link. (For example: What will be the purpose for writing? is a link to a page that will help you determine your purpose for writing.)

If this is your first time using Write Away! , follow the steps in the order listed. If you have been through the steps, but need additional information about a particular step, go directly to that page.

Step 1: Pre-Write Learn what to do before you begin to write.

Step 2: Draft It's easy to write the first draft after you pre-write.

Step 3: Revise Check the content of your paper, revise as needed.

Step 4: Edit Spelling, grammar, word usage are among those items to check before publishing.

Step 5: Publish Now you're ready to write the final copy!
