Descriptive form of writing in which the author provides vivid details or an event

Examples: short stories, friendly letters,

Persuasive

Form of writing where the author attempts to convince the readers of a particular point of view

Expository

Writing that explains, informs or gives information

Examples: how-to, research paper,

Comparison/Contrast

Description, explanation of similarities and differences

Cause and Effect

Description, explanation, of an event (effect) and the reason the event occurred (cause)
