Software

For Beginners: Apple iMovie is a simple, fun
program that is easy to learn and will allow you and your students to
create hours and hours of great classroom footage. It has a variety of
features for capturing, adding effects, and editing footage. You will
need a Macintosh computer however to reap the benefits of this software.

For Intermediates: Real
Producer in its free version is a very scaled back video capture
software tool that will also convert your video into a RealPlayer file
format. It's not bad if all you want to do is capture and convert video.
If cutting scenes together and adding effects and titles are on your
agenda, this software won't give you that ability
   For
Advanced:
Final Cut Pro is Apple's answer to Adobe Premiere. This editing
software is for advanced users with prior experience editing video. It
contains many of the same features as Adobe Premiere and has audio
editing capabilities. You'll need a Macintosh to work on this software
too.
