U = UNDERSTAND YOUR SCHOOL WORK

Always do your homework

Pick a special place and time to work 1/2 hour each evening.
Choose a place that is well lit and comfortable. REDUCE STRESS
Organize homework materials in a box. Be sure to have a pencil, crayons, glue, scissors, eraser, sharpener.
Read every night during your special work time.
Have someone read to you. Read to someone.
Reserve homework time for monthly projects (on homework calendar) and other studies, like math practice.
Remember, your homework grade will be recorded on your report card.

Pay attention during class

Focus on the lesson or topic of discussion.
Participate in class discussion and activities.
Raise your hand to ask questions or make a comment.
Listen to what others are saying.
Wait for your turn to speak.

N = NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST

Take care of yourself

Get plenty of rest.
Eat well balanced meals.
Stay on a regular schedule.
Begin your morning on a positive note.
