Journey to Mars
You have been given the task of designing the plan for the first human colony on the planet, Mars.  The first step is to get to know the planet and its characteristics.  Below are some web sites to help you explore what resources and conditions are found on the red planet.

Research these things:
1. What kind of atmosphere is found on Mars?  Is there oxygen to breathe in the
    atmosphere on Mars?
2. Is there a water supply available?  If so, where?
3. Is there a food supply of any kind?  If so, where?  Could Earth's plants be
grown on Mars?  If not, why not?  If so, how?
4. What kind of weather is found on Mars?
5.  How much will you weigh on Mars?  How will the amount of gravity affect how
    you walk and move around?
6.  What types of landforms and what kinds of surfaces are found on Mars?
How will that affect travel on Mars?
7.  What materials are available for building shelters on Mars?

Then think about...
what problems humans need to solve in order to
                            create a colony on Mars.

OK, get searching!
