The nature of mathematics can be summarized in a number of ways; for
example, as a well-defined body of knowledge. Mathematics can enter
our lives through a number of ways; buying food, reading a newspaper, or
estimating a length. The lesson is designed to meet the needs of
a particular group of students who need help to gain in a degree of undrstanding
in order to understand better their approach to other subjects.
The aims of this lesson are to enable students to:
Develop an appreciation of the beauty, power and usefulness of mathematics
Develop mathematical knowlegde, concepts and principles
Develop patience and persistance in problem-solving
Communicate clearly in a variety of context

The purpose of the lesson is to help students understand the concept of
square roots and how it can be used in a real-world application.
This lesson should help the individual student uderstand the concept in
timely fashion due to CPS requirements.
This unit is designed to be used individual and with a facilitator guiding
the students. However, the students should be able to navigate through
the Web Quest at their own leisure. This unit should be used as supplement
to a simplifying radical unit, and should not stand alone.
