Capitals, Latitude, and Longitude

In this lesson you will have to find the capital of each French speaking nation and its coordinates using lines of latitude and longitude.

The next step is to go to the country links at the bottom of the page and find the name of the capital of each French speaking country. Don't forget to include the USA in your list. Enter this data in your journals.

After you complete the above task visit the following site and determine the latitude and longitude of each capital. Enter the coordinates in your journal next to the appropriate capital city.

Answer the following questions:

  1. List the countries located in the Northern hemisphere.
  2. List the countries located in the Southern hemisphere.
  3. List the countries are west of the prime meridian.
  4. List the countries are east of the prime meridian.
  5. How many of the capitals are near the equator?
  6. What do you think the climate of these capitals is like?
