Web site on Chicago

Aim:

Produce a digital library shelf on Chicago, with references geared toward lst-5th grade, which, ideally, can be used simultaneously with children functioning at different levels.  References will contain historical, geographic, with emphasis on neighborhoods.  May include a teachers' shelf and some references for older children.  Correlate with Illinois Learning Standards and CPS Standards, if possible.

Rationale:

Lack of materials for younger children re: Chicago.  Want to start with neighborhood as is of high interest  level to students.  Want to allow kids, who may otherwise be unable,  to explore the city through the web.
