Professional Life:
|
I was once a teacher of software application classes at Medill until Learning Technologies was dismantled. The above picture is one where I was teaching my class how to use Word Art to add a little variety to worksheets they would be creating for their students.I really miss them. I'm also classified as a Technology Coordinator for my school and the GEAR-UP program hosted by Roosevelt University.

School Information:
|
Wadsworth School is located at 6420 S. University Ave. The immediate community is comprised of a few single family homes, but the majority of residences are multi-family apartment buildings. Presently there is a trend toward gentrification in the community with many newly constructed single family homes and more are planned for the future. A school-campus park was recently completed. It has given wadsorth a totally different look. Wadsworth receives students from the Powell School to help relieve their overcrowding. Wadsworth also receives students from a shelter located within the community. Wadsworth's principal believes in utlizing technology resources. Our school has hosted WIT for two summers. He has also encouraged his staff to take advantage of what WIT has to offer. Wadsworth also takes part in CUIP, hosted by U of C and GEAR-UP hoseted by Roosevelt University. These programs have provided our school with additional technology training & technical assistance.

Personal Interests:
Taking digital & video pictures
and teaching the students how to use both types of cameras. I enjoy editing
the pictures and converting the videos using my new IMAC computer. Once
the videos are edited the students are able to take them home to show
to their friends and loved ones. I also enjoy teaching the students how
to download and add sounds and photos to their PowerPoint presentations. |
