Mary McLeod Bethune
(1875 - 1955)

My name is Jamara. I am in the sixth grade. I attend Wadsworth Elementary School. I enjoy
working with my teachers. My teachers' names are Mrs. Randolph, Ms. Jordan and Mrs.
Monroe. They are very nice. Today, I will share with you what I learned about Mary McLeod
Bethune. She was a woman of great foresight and commitment to education and civil rights for
African Americans. She was also an advisor to President and Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt.
